That is unfortunately the case. I can't imaging it being a feature, so maybe MSFT will fix it soon

It took hours! I lost the CD so had to download the ISO instead. I accidentally installed Win7 Pro instead of Home Premium and was told my serial was wrong, so had to start the process all over, but I pretty much followed what you suggested!

That's what I did (and it worked!) but someone else mentions that you can download Win8 from the Upgrade Assistant to a USB and install from there, thus skipping the installing Win7 step altogether.

In retrospect, this would have been the best strategy, but I didn't realise that the Upgrade Assistant allowed installation via USB. Ended up installing Win7 on the SSD and then upgrading from there which took quite a bit longer but it works now! Loving the extra speed, but I still have quite a lot of stuff that needs

If you have no idea, Youtube is your friend. Oh, and you need hours of free time to screw up and start again (well, at least I did)

I've been muddling my way through bicycle (as in the motor-less kind) maintenance. It's a skill I had no interest in learning but in a country where everyone cycles, the only alternative is spending a fortune on either a car or getting the bike fixed professionally.

haha I realised it was a joke! I was just pointing out that Amazon had (very) few very good deals

Amazon UK had some good deals, and when Best Buy was still around, they really pushed it, but it never really seemed to take off here. But it does exist/has existed on this side of the pond.

Err, yes... good point. But 4d sounds way cooler and is sure to fetch a higher price.

4D is real time 3D.

Impressively, Amazon give free shipping even to mainland Europe if you're prepared to wait a little.

21% off a Crucial SSD which is pretty good given that I rarely see discounts on them. Needless to say, they sold out in a couple of seconds. You can tell we don't get many good offers in the UK

How do I best go about installing Windows 8 using the upgrade offer when I want to install on a new SSD? Is it even possible?

There was an interview on You and Yours with the CEO. He said that it was only £2 (~3.20USD) from them but thrice the price on the internet. That isn't such a bad deal

I'm a little ignorant of the advantages of a slow cooker as opposed to... you know... cooking normally. Lots of people have just told me that if you're shit at cooking (which I most certainly am), slow cookers make you into a mini René Redzepi, but better. Can someone explain what these things actually do etc?

Maybe it is just you who is anti Saturnalia.

What about versions for non-christians? We need apps like: "Is it hanukkah/diwali/saturnalia yet?"

Did you make this app? haha

It's in the image so I'm surprised it isn't in the list: FileZilla

PRECISELY why this advert is a little unfair. Two to three years ago, if you wanted anything that took good photos (or for that matter HD video), you'd have to get a DSLR. I got a low end one that took much better photos than similarly priced point and shoots. Another reason I prefer DSLRs to point and shoots? The
