I will say that I need more than the Colonel Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) and Zeke (Jodran Bolger) to be characters and not look/act like cartoons of criminals. They gave Colonel Diyoza a background I found much more compelling than I expected so that’s a plus. My assumption is that we will find out that Zeke was a guard

Raven’s leg really healed up in space huh? Some basic thoughts:
Pros: The show is conscious of the number of survivors (something I think had been missing for awhile), upcoming Bellamy-Octavia friction, the leaders of the prison crew seem interesting even if the 283 are going to be cartoons, Raven Reyes is the greatest

On the note of slightly forgotten things, does Peyton know about Ravi’s vaccine and the past creation of the cure* as part of her “goodwill tour” in Washington D.C.? This seems like the kind of thing that could prevent Seattle from getting starved out.
*That Ravi has records of its composition, manufacture, etc. I know

Ravi asking Major to get his D&D figurine during the lock down.

Ethan, the adorable child who didn’t want to leave Uncle Jaha’s side, forced us to reinvest emotionally in Jaha. Isaiah Washington is a great actor, but the audience needs a reason to care about the character. If Jaha had died in Season 3 there would’ve been a sigh of relief.

I understand how Octavia could go from the mantra who cares they’re just blankets to the mantra of corporal punishment is necessary for our survival in the span of the time of the episode. Octavia’s conversion to trial by combat seems like the writers really wanted to double down on some theme and didn’t care how they

If Clarke had said “who was Maya again?” I would’ve laughed for days. Jasper’s grief over that women he met for those few weeks he was held hostage made no sense, even if you still held to the concept they were teenagers (which the showed stepped away from quite a bit).

Ravi in Armor managed to be goofy for the audience, but convincing that it could be sexy within the context of the show. Excellent balancing act on Rahul’s part.

I will say while some of the meta-stuff was a bit too much (e.g. Ava’s nod to entrance lines), but this that is far outweighed by the positives (e.g. Rip’s Good Bye, the money saving reunions, Our Savior Beebo, etc.).

I honestly thought they were going to go in a “hey, you fought for the Confederacy you asshat,” direction with those two so I got caught by surprise. I will use this opportunity to say that I’m sorry I didn’t accidentally revive my AV Club account sooner.

The talented actresses are a big part of why these characters work, but it helps that they are written like people. I read a criticism in an A.V. Club comments section for a different science fiction program that said “he doesn’t write women. He writes what he thinks girls he used to have a crush on in college and

As a bleed blue Democrat I did like that the show focused more on an admiration of Obama than on trashing Trumpism. I think that a lot of pop culture’s anti-Trump statements come off so blatant it can take away from the content. I think the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. arc about the framework proved you can do it well and

<b>Darhk:</b> As the new guy, is that a real idea or a joke idea?
To the newly unionized staff at the A.V. Club,
Do WGA rules just allow you to take conversations from the writer’s room verbatim and put them in your script? Also, does anyone else love how often Ray’s joke ideas either work (now) or would have worked

After they tried to pass off The 4400 Center as a futuristic, high end Swiss bank in 2024 last season, I’m glad they stick to the past. Plus, I think that just makes easier for new viewers to feel part of it (i.e. not having to learn too much about “the future” to follow an episode).

I saw the twist coming that he wasn't going to have a monstrous face, but the whole "you don't like my mustache" worked and I feel like it really should not have worked.

I know those people exist, but I am not seeing a whole ton of them. Maybe it's because this is a recent event and I avoid Reddit like the plague and I haven't scrolled down that far, but it's kind of nice to see the (so far) lack of "eww cooties."

I'm still most accustomed to seeing him as Gordy from "Ned's Declassified" so if Daran Norris is anything except super happy he'd come off as a zombie.

A.V. Club Review: Strangely, the season opener of The Flash cut to veteran actor Jeffrey Combs (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The 4400) reading the phone book. It was the best episode of The Flash in years.

Canada says that, but they're just jealous of his distinctive, awesome voice. Also, if anyone knows Combs, I need a new voicemail. I'm job hunting.

Rahul himself declared as much last year.
