This Week in Other Individuals Got Robbed at the Emmy's
Author: ..and I'm delighted that you made something of yourself. As the Cloud Fox says
In Unison: You found yourself in your struggle. The truth is what you came for and you found it within your strife.
Jake: Wow, that was cool–
In Unions: Be brave for Togon, Togon…
This Week in Andre Braugher Got Robbed at the Emmy’s
Holt: Probability doesn’t kick in, do I have to teach you college level statistics.
Kevin: I don’t know do I have to teach you high school statistics
Holt: Do I have to teach you eighth grade statistics
Kevin: Do I have to teach you seventh grade statistics
Holt: Do I…
A lot of sitcoms run into this problem where the character suddenly has a new hobby or interest we’ve never heard of and I’m happy to see that Brooklyn Nine-Nine dodged that with this episode. They found a hobby that fits Terry as established and makes sense that wouldn’t be something he wears on his shoulder. At…

The Space Race episode was tough to watch. I groaned when they had Nixon more or less announce on live TV the astronauts were going to die with that weird "rest in peace" line.
I personally was sold on Amy's interruption only because of the look on Melissa Fumero's face as she waited for him to be done.
At first I hated Pimento, but lately I've been sold. I still think he's best used sparingly only because his character is too surreal. Plus, I'd love to have Pimento, P.I. come in and consult every once in awhile. I think it creates a fun dynamic that Pimento as a regular member of the force does not possess.
Those call outs were great, but this had to be my favorite call out.
Patterson: Barry Allen, don’t you ever work?
I can respect/accept that though because Greg Grunberg and JJ Abrams were childhood friends. It's something I don't mind considering I was not good at maintaining friendships as a child.
This was definitely my Andre Braugher Emmy moment. The fist pump sold it.
I respectfully disagree about the slavery plot line. It might be because I always hold my breath when the Arrowverse attempts to deal with a subject that is complex, but I think they did what they needed to do within the confines of the episode to make it work.
I was super surprised he didn't just rebuild or start trying to rebuild his suit, but it was worth it for him to receive the cold gun. It was surprisingly touching.
My only gripe with this episode and the "The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln" are when characters insist "if we do X, we'll fix history," and Lucy gives a cerebral defense. Nothing says that things wouldn't turn out worse and as someone who lost her sister she'd probably lean into it.
That scene at the end with Rufus is something you know is going to happen, but the execution was fantastic. If you are wondering whether this show has potential, this is the proof.
IIRC it had more to do with them running into themselves in the past not being in a time period in which they were alive. It's a plot device to explain why if they mess up, they can't try again.
"Why not?! My Mom said Billy Bush is going to get $10 million from THIS NETWORK!!" SNL calling that out is golden.
Chidi: That's not possible.
Elanor: I once posed as a hot prom date for my cousin which was helping him
and later according to his therapist, not helping him.
I like how he resorted to using the Magic 8-Ball in general, but that bit worked only because of William Jackson Harper's response.
This Week in Melissa Fumero Got Robbed at the Emmy's
Amy: Oh…Rosa…crying…don't know what to do…pat, pat…this feels wrong.
