The ACO and FIA actually had a formal gentleman’s agreement that F1 wouldn’t race that weekend. Then they said they had no choice, but wouldn’t overlap start times. Then they overlapped start times

Hulkenberg wouldn’t be available anyway, since F1 scheduled Baku on the same weekend.

Disappointing that Hulkenberg & Tandy didn’t get a shot at defending their win in a 3rd car. Tandy in particular was instrumental in beating the Audis at last year’s LeMans.

In related news, one of the BEST races of the year happens this weekend: The V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000. Incredible racing on one of the best tracks anywhere, Mount Panorama.
