Electric motors are in the mid-upper 90s in terms of efficiency these days. They are very efficient.

Hello, fellow Alltrack owner. I’m digging the wheels.

Can confirm, my dad owns two MkIVs, and my sister shattered the oil pan on one on a rock that was a little bigger than she estimated. After that, both of them got the “panzer plate” treatment.

Tell me about it. My wife’s car has 19s and when it came time to buy winter rubber, it was cheaper to get a set of wheels and tires in 18" than just tires in 19". Good thing they fit over the brakes.

Yeah I gotta agree this is too fragile for a tablet. These kinds of devices are designed to be portable and with portability comes accidents.

A good rule of thumb at least for us is an hour of stops every six of driving.

It really is. Peak HP is actually quite low in the powerband and falls off as speed increases. This chart is for a P90 but the curves are likely similar for the 75D.

I mean, they should just call it a telescreen and be done with it.

I work in local government. Our holiday party consists of a 2-hour catered lunch onsite with no alcohol. There’s really no risk of shenanigans to be found, but it’s still worth leaving early (like, as soon as possible); I’d rather be back at my desk working than making sober smalltalk with a bunch of people I don’t

My brother went through this. He was in a band with some friends, that had a minor hit. They were sued because an algorithm found a few notes of their melody matched that of someone else’s song. Dragged out in the court system for years and killed any chance at residuals for him.

My 2.5L NA jetta sportwagen is rated for 32 on the freeway, consistently gets around 37-40mpg. Keeping the speed under 75 has been key- that seems to be the point where air resistance says “Ima add an extra stop for gas and erase all your gains in speed if you don’t slow it down a little.”

I just watched this again last night. These little probes are so awesome.

I mean, think about the fact that the 18650 Li-Ion batteries used in Teslas including the P100D have a discharge rate of like 0.7C, whereas a LiPo could be as much as 40-50C. You could build an electric drag car that might only go a quarter mile, but could be making an order of magnitude more power than the most

Electric motors aren’t like gasoline engines, which have wildly different personalities and performance characteristics

The counterpoint to that is that power is a function of motor speed, so an electric motor with linear torque doesn’t make much horsepower at low speeds. There are many different motor designs based on the application. Something like an EV actually wants the type of electric motor with high initial torque which can

I’m in Denver and chose the Alltrack over the Subarus mainly because of the power (and the manual transmission if I’m honest). I just couldn’t envision being happy with the Sube’s NA 4 in the mountains.

These are office buildings not fullfillment centers. Most of what’s going to be coming and going from these facilities will be the people.

Here’s the article I was thinking of. Sounds like speculation at this point.

I thought I saw something here a while back saying the Golf wagons are being phased out soon.

IIRC Delta has been a perennial champion for on-time flights. It stands to reason that their policies reflect that, and that the gate crew would be very hesitant to do anything that might cause a delay.
