I carried a plug in my bag for two years around Asia and Europe and not once did I need it. Even in the most unusual of accommodation choices you'll find a plug, and failing that a scrunched up sock in the hole will keep the water level up, at least for a little while.

Hopefully I won't suffer any delays or problems in the future, but it's a great tip to bare in mind if things do seem to be stagnating and need a little push.

I use that one all the time! I picked up from my partners brother during our weeks in Italy over the past few years. It's my answer to everything.

It's an interesting idea, though I'd like to see that the companies see articles like this and Wendy's over on CNTraveler, and make more of an effort to connect with people via social media to not only promote themselves, but to handle the day-to-day problems.
