Would be nice if your commenter number was on the profile page. LH just keeps getting mo' better all the time!
I have a love / hate relationship with GD. I love the idea of it, but I hate the resources it takes, and the fact that it doesn't seem to work all the time. I don't trust it, and for the overhead it creates, I decided to uninstall it and look for other alternatives.
It's not the most intuitive toolset, to be sure. I agree with Nemo, in that I don't want to have to visit a web site every time I need to do this kind of work.
Seems to me that this is more about context than actually defining an image. I take a photo of some work friends getting an award at a staff dinner - so is it a photo of "award" "presentation" "dinner" "group photo" "people" or other? Really, it's all of those things, and if two completely random people see that image…
@Nemo,
WordPress Database Backup is now included in default installs, which is nice.
Wow! Wow, wow, wow!
Like Lokee, I'm curious about the defrag issue. I had a defragger running the night after a large number of my photos were deleted. I tried a couple of recovery apps (for PC) and was able to recover three out of several hundred photos. I am going to try this suggestion, however. It's worth a shot to get those lost…
Kickslop makes a good point - I always go to the official Addons site to see if the extension is published there. I examine the number of downloads and read through many of the comments before taking the plunge.
They would have been better off to simply publish this as a simple guide to healthy choices.
@Dave,
As someone who has a lot of geotagged photos on my Flickr account, I have to say YAHOO! (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Tagging photos was SUCH a pain, even with the third-party tagging applications that were available. I also appreciate that Flickr set up a way to import all of my currently-tagged photos into the new…
I have to admit that I used this extension to play a prank on a friend. I have "issues" with those web counters you see on so many sites, and a buddy of mine had one on his business site. I used to bug him about it relentlessly, telling him it was a waste of time having it. To prove my point, I set ReloadEvery to his…
I bought a Rebel XT early last winter and have yet to try RAW but now that I have two CF cards I feel like it's time to try and see how RAW can make a difference.
+1 for IrfanView as a bulk renamer, but it also does a LOT more. It's as easy as starting up IrfanView, then hit your "b" key to open up the batch conversion window, and you're all set.
