COUNTERPOINT: My trans sister’s thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner (also, she’s a Marxist, as will soon become evident):

GODDAMMIT SHE STOLE MY PLAN

YES. I thought of that too. Her version of feminism is “support me or you’re a hater.”

Thank you. If you don’t kiss Taylor’s ass she isn’t checking for you. It’s okay for her to write petty songs about women but anyone who says something about her is a bad feminist.

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R) trumpeted at a press conference that he would “vomit” if he watched the whole thing

Nothing is more precious than life

I can tell you what’s more precious than an unborn child. Educating, feeding, clothing, and sheltering low income children, and watching them break the cycle of poverty.

FWIW, a lot of kids were killing themselves with drugs, getting AIDS and raping each other. There’s a reason a lot of the cast died shitty deaths... because the movie was true to life. A lot of really bad things were happening under the radar.

No offense Lee Daniels, I love your show but Empire is to our generation, what Dynasty is to our parent’s. Sure you might have more sensical story lines and less wedding massacres but still, you’re a nighttime soap opera. Deal.

As a black female who lived in an upper middle class neighborhood for a good portion of her childhood, this doesn’t surprise me. Not one bit. I distinctly my family and I shopping around for a bigger home and my dad and my mom were visibly upset by the process. I asked them why. I asked about the homes we viewed and I

Lots of people. As a black person trying to buy something right now I shop with a white friend who poses as me so I can see the same places.

As an old, I distinctly remember my parents selling their house in the 70s and the neighbors pointing out that they had an "understanding" in the neighborhood that they wouldn't sell to black people. "Screw them," my dad said. "Black people's money is as green as whites and this place is going to the highest offer."

Writer/lawyer Andrew Vaccess wrote a fantastic article about the language people use when discussing abuse, and he talks about the term “child prostitute” vs the term “prostituted child.”
