Looked online for the transcript, but could find it. Anyway:
As I responded to someone else above, I suspect a reason so many are uncomfortable is that, even if they haven't personally engaged in the offensive behavior, they've either laughed over stories about it or turned a blind eye to it when their friends were the offenders.
My personal experience as of late has been that many men do not like the lens shined upon their gender privilege. Even if they have not knowingly harassed women, many are extremely uncomfortable with the thought that they might have, or that they might unwittingly do so in the future. They think they knew the rules,…
You'd be amazed.
And here is my take as a man to men who claim misandry....
Sigh...its incredibly different, and so different that I'm surprised you can't work it out for yourself.
I've refreshed and its still there. WTF
Yes. It is not "bashing" to truthfully document things that have happened to us.
IT IS FUCKING INSANE that there is no way to report abuses like th[is] immediately to Kinja.
It's ironic how touchy men are about this campaign, feminism or a bunch of women speaking openly about the female experience—ironic and terrifying all at once.
If you're not actively blowing the sort of moron who uses "not all men" seriously then you are in fact attacking him. You must fluff up these dudes every second of every day.
I just emailed the help@gawker with a permalink to one of them, so hopefully they will get on that.
I'm not sure why you don't think "personal anecdotes" are "facts, per se." A personal anecdote is a pretty archetypal exampe of a "fact, per se."
Unless you personally harass or assault women, I don't see why you would feel bashed. Decent people everywhere agree that this behavior is not acceptable. It seems like their issue is that women are speaking out about it. That is very telling.
They you go with your liberal propaganda. My Freedom Defense TubesTM have nothing to do with 'guns' thank you very much.
Meanwhile we've been looking at ourselves through the male gaze this whole time...
I could see how a man would feel attacked by the hashtag if he's a piece of shit who harasses women.
