wow.
I was the manager of a co-ed swim team in high school in the 70's, and I honestly can’t remember any rude comments from male swimmers to the female swimmers and divers. Swimmers were nerds, and respectful sorts.
The article also pointed out that his claims of being unused to drugs and alcohol are false. He has messages on his phone that refer to an acid trip and to his interest in trying a combo of LSD and Molly, as well as wax and dab. And a prior run in with the police for underage drinking.
‘I can see your tits in that swimsuit,’
I understand why the defence is allowed to submit ‘character references’ and letters of support, detailing the convicted person’s good behaviour to be considered for sentencing. But I think that the defence should also be allowed to collect character references and letters describing what a fucking creepy asshole the…
WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED. wonder where he learned to treat women like that. Couldnt have been dear old dad...
According to a report from InTouch Weekly, members of Stanford’s swim team thought Brock Turner was “very, very…
Oh, word: The practice isn’t a 401c3 non profit, as this interview here explains, so the only way to donate is to make out a check directly to the office or to him (Warren M. Hern) and send it in the mail to
I didn’t see this right away and I called Dr. Hern’s office to ask how I could donate money directly to the practice. I had a fifteen-minute conversation with Dr. Hern himself. In addition to being a hero, he is a very humble and cool guy.
Here’s a link to Dr. Hern’s clinic for anyone interested in offering support directly to the people who work there, and here’s the National Network of Abortion Funds. The George Tiller Memorial Fund specifically goes to late abortions.
Inconsistent usage means artificial? So, “car” is an artificial term because we also use “auto” and “sedan”? Dogs are artificial since we also call them pooches or canines or mutts or hounds? I think you’ve shown that your knowledge of linguistics is about as sizable as in trans issues: minuscule, Lilliputian, tiny,…
Except that’s not what cisgender or transgender mean. Cis means “this side,” so cisgender is someone whose gender corresponds to the gender they were born with. Trans means “across,” so transgender is someone whose gender has changed from what their birth gender was. It’s not saying that they are not normal.
Languages change. English has changed a lot since we first started speaking it. Hell, English has changed in the last five years drastically. Sometimes people create new words or sometimes they simply change the definition of old words.
English can handle it. Hell, English can handle it better than other languages, because it doesn’t use gendered terms (like French does).
I couldn’t have put it better myself.
So: it’s hardly a radical shift. English is one of the more gender neutral languages out there. My table doesn’t have a gender, my car, my hair. Really only people and some animals have genders. And, funny thing, we already have a third gender: “they/them”. It’s been used as a singular pronoun for a loooong time,…

PSA: ignore and/or dismiss the trolls! It’s shocking how non-gender-conforming people experiencing a rare win brings them out like nothing else.
I would ask them if they have a title they’d prefer you to use.
