Exactly. We are close to that plus live in a low cost of living flyover state. We have $0 payment for cars and for everything else, for that matter. Our fleet average age is right at 6 years old and I am sure as heck I won’t be having car payments when the time comes to replace a vehicle.

New vehicle for personal use is a luxury purchase in all circumstances.

Love people spending money they do not have. Funny thing, this has nothing to do with today’s situation. Details change, but people keep spending the money they do not have no matter what. Once things are back to normal, people will be buying new everything with money they do not have.

Electrification is a big reset switch for brand recognition. Everyone is a novice. Is a Ferrari branded computer better than that by Toyota or anyone else? Is there such thing as “luxury tablet”?

GTI recommends regular, not premium in the USA. Please double check the specs. 2015 and below (I believe) - premium. 2016 and above - regular.

This is why there should be a choice.

Our KIA dealers are ok, one is paired with Mazda and the other with Subaru. Although the latter do not really care to sell you a car because they go like hot cakes anyways.

Yeah, a salesperson tried to “demonstrate” me features of a manual GTI prior to me test driving it. He sat on the driver’s seat and tried to pull out of the parking spot. He stalled, twice. I just told him to please switch seats. Still have the car 5 years later.

There should be a choice. Currently, you are stuck with one sales model.

Nobody said abolish dealers completely.  Customer should simply be given a choice how to buy a new car. If dealers are adding so much value, then the change in Franchise law will not affect them one bit and they have nothing to worry about.

You buy a Tesla online without talking to anyone. This is exactly to avoid the experience you had at a physical showroom.

Another crossover - how exciting!

The bar for a car to be considered luxury is higher in dollars than for a motorcycle. A $25K motorcycle is a luxury item. A $5K diamond is a luxury item. A $200K house is not a luxury item. A $30K car is not a luxury item. A $60K vehicle - very much maybe. This is also reflected in how eager the lenders to finance

A Kia is not a luxury item. Unlike the motorcycle

Should not have provided them with your social. The only reason they need the social is to run your credit.

Tell me that David Ramsey does not have a point.

This is why they invented cash - to avoid these exact issues. There is no reason to shop for a luxury item (a motorcycle) without having cash at hand. If you do have cash at hand, you can choose to finance all you want, but can fall back on cash if things do not work out smoothly.  Smh

The correct thing to say would be "can't get your hands on  Toyota GR?" They will be made of unobtanium.

Good points, except that people can not be effected by issues. Being for all intents and purposes mammals, just like all mammals, humans are effected by parents, unless they were born in a test tube. People are affected by issues, however.

No, not worthy. Not every removal from flight instances is worthy of a permanent ban. Starting a physical fight or trying to damage a plane most likely are. Verbal insults,  probably not.
