Mexico is paying for it.

To each their own. I currently type this at a place about an hour’s drive from that place. On a Gigabit internet. Yes, Gigabit. The next uber, I just looked, says 6 minutes. No whole foods or trader Joe’s (that’s a bummer), but good local supermarkets called Hugo’s and an organic chain called Natural Grocers.  I am

Now playing

Sounds like you are curious. Be careful. This is Minnesota, but it is next door to us so you can't tell.

 You would be surprised

I do. I would rather buy a car from a MF (that's manufacturer) today instead of a dealer.

It is rare in my neck of (lack of) the woods. North Dakota here. We have a few Teslas, but those are basically acts of rebellion at this point.

He was trying for 30+ years. He does want the job. Stop making assumptions based on exactly nothing.  This is not a political site.

Sure, but there is also additional employment that is generated by this plant indirectly such as delivery drivers, etc, etc. Sure, the numbers do not reach those from the G’old days, but they go well above 6.

All one needed to do is to mail the same letter from a USPS office at a nearby-stationed aircraft carrier.

You are absolutely right. There are good reasons to consider a Tesla. My point is that these are not traditionally the reasons why buyers choose cars. Therefore, it will take the public to accept these as reasons to actually go ahead and spend money on a Tesla instead of a different vehicle.

What, they did not name it Chevy Corvette Camaro Bolt?

Kind of like Ford Edge ST

North Dakota here. Apparently the last few days have been part of the longest cold snap since 1936 or so. No record cold, but the duration of temps was longer than usual. We had at least 6-7 consecutive nights with lows below -20F and day highs of -10 or below. Meh. The heating bill might go up by a couple of bucks,

I do not think that price is the main factor. Technical novelty and unique benefits is what drives EV buyers today and will for a while. Tesla is now a legitimate contender in premium to luxury sedan category. People are willing to overlook QC issues because of futuristic technology. For other segments, neither Tesla

No, they just need EVs to be available to buy or lease in the shapes and forms that buyers want. What are the hottest and best selling vehicle segments in the US? Trucks and SUVs. Some minivans.

Dodge and Chrysler will be ok if they maintain at least as many cylinders as gears in the transmission.

Point taken. Pickups is exactly what I meant. Minivans for many purposes are much better vehicles so they provide value even at 50K. Best value? No. Better than alternatives at 50K such as a bunch of crossovers? You bet.

Chill. 50K is a lot of money. I meant to say that $50K does not buy you thatmuch car anymore. Look at your nearest friendly dealership and see what you can - and more like what you can’t - buy for $50K. All things considered, a loaded minivan topping at $50K is not out of the ordinary.

What? 50k Is not that much money, that was my point.

What, you want it to be $70K? Fifty thousand does not get you that much of a vehicle today.
