You are right, although this system is a nonstarter in the US. The Socialist system allows people to weather crises better in general because they are protected from sudden unplanned events such as the virus. If the sudden unplanned event is big enough, the socialist system is less resilient. It is better to be in a

All good, but pay from what funds, exactly? That is the problem. Of course, it is better to pay, but from where? France, my guess, does not have a secret stash of money piled up, so something must give at some point pretty soon.

There is a limit to how much money can be paid for free. The Soviet Union fell apart in large part because of spending beyond available means. Stretching it works only until it doesn’t.

The best alternative is to test them, and everyone else, every single day. That’s hardly practical, but is the only way to make massive testing actually useful.

Drugs are ridiculously expensive indeed. Science research makes up a couple percent of the total cost of drug development. The rest is trials, regulations, company profits, etc etc. Leaving drug development to market forces on top of regulations, many of which are necessary, is what makes drug prices skyrocket.

Science research can only work if it is open because its lifeblood is exchange if ideas and vetting any ideas and results via peer reviewing. A standalone secret lab discovering something major is a myth for this very reason. The price of advancing research is that results are also available to your adversary and the

with nothing?  Did you at least have coffee with it?

So you are saying that the brew pubs de-liver?

You have to distribute money to other people via the government. That is not a question. The question is for what. For example, supporting the military is not questioned by anyone. There are a number of things down the very long list that are not questioned, and even if they are, only by very few people. The list

My guess is pretty much everyone is with you. The differences begin when outlining where to draw the line. Some things are better left to free market. Others require control by a larger entity.

That’s correct. If all goes down the toilet as it seems now, many non-cash assets are either harder to sell or diminish in value, so while it is better than not having assets, it has some caveats. Cheers.

Type R may still be a better driver than those AWD offerings. Or a 2-series BMW? Or Mazda3 AWD, although it is auto only. Or Subaru WRX?

I hear ya, but the question is whether Type R will still be a good fit. It is apparently a better driver than some if not most AWD/RWD offerings he mentioned. Or, get a BMW 2 series.

Dumb doesn’t mean not useful and not necessary. I am nor sure what you are arguing for. Beer is dumb. Car exhaust is dumb. Gasoline is dumb. All happen to be necessary.

Looks like it may be better than others as a driver, better than Golf R even. You don’t buy Golf R for winter traction, do you?

Our VP of research still drives an Oldsmobile 88. The car is a rusty pile if trash and he does not dare take it on highway, but given that he lives about a mile from his office, he continues to drive the pile day in and day out. In fact, it looks like he actually gets a kick of all the jokes that are being made about

cIvic type R?

A lot will be interested in another Ford because the target audience did not learn the lesson.

you can if you have money or plan to stop driving after your lease is up. It has been beaten to death that leasing over time is the most expensive way to drive a car.

i am sure he is doing great
