I don’t think I’m criticizing them. I’m saying that both sides have cons and its not a clear cut decision like the OP. You can weigh the pros and cons differently and come to another conclusion. My side clearly has the con of a higher risk of injury/death.

If you work closely or interact frequently to somebody helping them usually helps you. Right now a lot of us say refuse to help them but then complain when people flee to the US to avoid the rampant corruption, drug cartels, and poor wages we refuse to help with or contribute to and profit from.
