Just bought a new GM car and am disappointed it does have a spare. I want to use that space for a inflation kit, jumpers, tow straps, and emergency supplies and rations. Spares take up way too much space for their limited utility

The answer is to put it on an app like myChevrolet that shows car related info. Things such as tire pressure, fuel range, battery range, etc. Also, it should be downloadable. In the event that you need it out in the sticks you don't want to have to walk to the nearest 4G zone.
