Sandra is the best example of Survivor being a game that's less about making a bunch of big moves, and simply making a series of smaller but more effective moves.

I still think that's a good fraction of why Michelle won last season. Then again, people from her season have said her social game was way better than the edit ever showed.

I'm a heterosexual male who'd like to think he isn't that shallow, but seriously, Ken's handsomeness would forgive so much.

Will's confessionals tonight were bordering on wrestling promos.

Subtlety Is Overrated

Will thinks that the best game is the showiest game. I can understand not wanting to be dragged to the end as a goat, but there's something to be said for playing a more quiet, under-the-radar game that you can back up with a clear, concise narrative you can point to/defend in your FTC answers.

The past two episodes have been a study in sudden unlikability.

They're not tanking, but they do represent a significant decline. This season is the first time since season four that the ratings for any individual episodes have dipped below 12 million. And all the sub-12 million episodes happened in the past three weeks.

No, I'd agree on that. That felt like a little movie, and for those 90 minutes, I didn't really think about the rest of the group that wasn't onscreen. But here, I just kept wondering when Tara would get back to Alexandria and learn the bad news.

If we never see them again, this episode will have even less of a reason for existing.

My theory for the sluggish pacing is that they realized, after introducing Negan, that it's too soon to really start building to the All-Out War story arc. So they need to stall for time. Then again, I feel like there was plenty going on in the comics in-between Negan's intro and the introduction of the All-Out War

They're not trying for distance

I just don't get why you wouldn't make a good show if you could. Sure, to AMC, it's enough that Fear simply exists, but it does absolutely nothing for the brand for Fear to be a slog.

As a kid, I didn't build Lego communities as close together as all these communities under the yoke of Negan apparently are.

It's the whole reason that last week, they did "In the weeks ahead on AMC's The Walking Dead…" for the preview, rather than showing a straight-up "Next week on…". I imagine the ratings would have cratered if they'd outright admitted it was going to be a Tara-centric hour.

Fear TWD really could have been a great anthology show, illustrating how people handle walkers and survival challenges across different climates, environment and terrain.

No, but Ryan Seacrest would, 100%.

I wouldn't put it past the show to recast him if the 24 reboot is a hit (which there's almost no chance of it being. I have nothing on which to base this hunch, but come on).

And how!
