How are you preparing french toast? Microwaving? Steaming? Poaching?

My mother was in food service for 25+ years, and if she is involved in a cookout, you can guarantee that hot foods are kept over 140ºF and cold foods under 40ºF. Why food safety isn’t taught in school is beyond me.

This most likely works for amounts between perhaps 4-12 servings, assuming a standard pot for cooking the rice. That way, the water that filters between the grains + the “finger” water is close enough to the correct amount.
