Y'know, I thought really, really hard about this. I'd purchased Final Fantasy XIII for my PS3 a few years ago, but I couldn't force myself through it (I'm a long-standing fan of the franchise, back to the first game in 1990 in the West, and I couldn't get down with, "Weepy emo kids run down hallways forever" as a

Are you saying you didn't love Donkey Kong 64? It's probably the worst example of what you're talking about. Banjo-Kazooie, on the other hand, was one of my favorites.

Titanfall had a smooth launch as well.

Not really, Destiny and Titanfall both had successful launches (Destiny's servers were brought down by a DDOS attack later in the week though). The only two games to really fall flat were Sim City and Diablo 3.

The game isn't online only, and it's hardly as complex as an mmo or game like destiny. There's no excuses why a racing game shouldn't have it's online working, especially 3 days in.

It's disgusting really when looking at the overall picture of what PSN is compared to Xbox Live! If Destiny can handle 4 million beta players at once then surely Sony should have had their shit together for some racing game, especially when they said all networks and servers would be improved when they announced the

They should have said something way earlier about the Plus version instead of lying to people most of the night with "It's coming in the next hour!" and shit like that.

Quite a role model for her kid.

One other thing I noticed a BIT of, but not enough to speak definitively on it, was the goalkeeping. It felt like instead of being just a giant hitbox the game was taking the keeper's limbs into account more, with shots more noticeably coming off their legs, forearms, etc

Because we were deliberately keeping it a secret from you, Jason. It's all part of our MASTER PLAN...

I don't think it was ever Sarkeesian's goal to present solutions. Her whole goal has been to bring up troublesome issues regarding the representation of women in video games. She has very clearly done that in a way that has caught everyone's attention. However, the people making threats and using slurs are detracting

I enjoy that your post is pure complaint without any constructive criticism or solutions.

As a published writer, if you need to resort to sexism to tell a story, you are a fucking awful storyteller.

And you're not a bad person for criticizing her. You're a bad person for immediately having to jump to whining about not being allowed to criticize her on a story about her receiving legitimate death and rape

Her defenders, at the time, remind me of the same people who attack and deride her.

Of course you're allowed to speak. If you can't distinguish between your objections to her thesis, and the "kill yerself plz cunt" crowd that we're all complaining about here, you have some problems.

Seem? Certain people? I got news for you. Saying, "maybe women should form their own studio and make their pink games for girls" doesn't seem sexist to certain people. It is sexist as an objective fact. You imply that women should be segregated into their own studio because they and what they want are not "main

No one is advocating removing all violence directed towards women from all games. That's pretty much a strawman position that people who don't want anything to change use to rail against.

The people getting mad and/or surprised at Joss Whedon aligning himself with feminism have been endlessly amusing to me.

Nearly all of my favorite games are in 480p or worse.
