I would never compare Martin's style to "top-shelf British TV". And your complaint doesn't really make sense because Martin doesn't write the dialogue for the show.

Eh, that was the case in the books too. Lots of kin-slaying going on but no one made a peep if the person doing the slaying had a big enough army. Might makes right.
No, it would be the most infuriating thing the show could do. People have been waiting for Arya's storyline to somehow connect back to the main plots. And the show has been building her up to be this ultimate badass assassin. So it would be one of those 'make the entire internet mad' moments that this show is good at.
Only if I can bring liquid nitrogen with me.
I have a dark and secret worry that Arya's storyline isn't going to go anywhere and will be the ultimate fake out. She'll betray her oath to the Faceless Men and then her face will be added to their collection. So she never actually gets back to Westeros.
I think most other ladies would agree with me that no dick is better than bad dick.
The books and show always had two storylines going: the one about the War of Five Kings and the one about the white walkers. The earlier seasons dealt more closely with the former, but we're now shifting toward the latter, which is more traditional fantasy.
This is the first time I've ever seen anyone compare Game of Thrones to David Lynch.
The fact that the TOJ scene made it to the show confirmed that it wasn't just another red herring or plot point that wasn't going to go anywhere.
I don't think Lady Stoneheart even makes sense now that Brienne has found Sansa and is serving her. The whole reason LS is pissed off at Brienne in the book is that the latter had apparently broken her oath to Catelyn by serving the Lannisters.
Or the Three-eyed Raven knew that Bran was going to do what he did and that this incident had to occur for some yet unexplained but important reasons.
Reek, Reek, it rhymes with Christie…eek.
Jaquen seemed to imply that if Arya didn't kill the actress and take her face, then Arya's face would be added to the collection instead. That threat seems like a pretty good incentive for people at that stage of training to stay.
Shireen wasn't cured of greyscale. Some people survive it if they get it as children. No one knows why.
Let's be honest: There was nothing compelling about the Iron Islands or Dorne in the books.
Maybe Yara and Theon take over Victarion's storyline so that we still have an Iron Islander race to get to Dany first.
If anything, Hodor lasted a surprisingly long time for someone so pure of heart.
It's strange to see people complain about the Hodor reveal as clunky. I mean, did they actually read the books? I thought the reveal seemed like authentic GRRM. As much as I enjoyed the books, they are not fine literature and do have a lot of cheesy, manipulative bits in them.
I was thinking that Theon and Yara might come across Gendry in his little boat next week, "Oh hello. Remember me? I seemed like a significant character several seasons ago?"
Bran just keeps getting people killed because he doesn't listen to his elders. The series starts with him ignoring Cat's order not to climb all over Winterfell and him seeing Jaime and Cersei together.
