For any Wire fans, Gus's criminal enterprise was pretty much what Stringer Bell envisioned for the Barksdale crew. Interesting that chaotic evil again triumphed over lawful evil (or is it neutral?).

The only part of this episode I unequivocally enjoyed: The expression on Tig's face when Tom Arnold's character is discussing the fancy sex dolls. There hasn't been nearly enough Tig perversity lately.
I've thought about this too and the only things that come to mind are: providing security for illicit operations and stealing/fencing stuff (like the mobsters on The Sopranos). Gun-running and drugs aren't the only illicit activities that don't require education or special skills, just the ones that (probably) pay…
I'm more annoyed that the club seemed to have completely forgotten about/glossed over Luann's death, despite earlier seasons having established that SAMCRO is supposedly very protective of members' families. Not to mention the fact that Otto is a long-suffering, extremely loyal member. A porn producer is hardly a…
I think the problem people are having here has more to do with awkward plotting than whether the racial thing is believable or realistic in either the real world or the world of the show. If there had been some discussion or a plot point or SOMETHING in an earlier season that clarified that SAMCRO would be against…
Are you serious?
This would also be a good way to get rid of a character that's basically been useless since the end of Season 1.
Ah, the Gustavo Fring Rule
Still an entertaining image!
But believable! there have been plenty of instances of the Lovejoys being the sort of bullying, smug, hypocritical Christians that are the opposite of (golden era) Ned.
Battlestar is definitely worth watching. I'd say the first two seasons count as some of the best television in recent history. It starts going downhill in season 3 (don't get me started on the final season!) and went from great to merely good and then just batshit entertaining.
Will the TV Club ever cover Carnivale?
It seems like the perfect show to recap/review given its cast of characters, dense mythology, convoluted plot/story arcs, etc. It just seems like the kind of show lots of people would have fun endlessly dissecting in the comments section.
@Autumnsweater: Glad to hear that. Even non-famous authors can be huge dicks to editorial staff, so hearing this makes me like Lowe even more.
The problem with the Sue Costello episode is that she doesn't really let her guard down. WTF is most fascinating when Marc is able to get under someone's skin/when the subject is more vulnerable (like in the Wade episode)
Well fuck
I've been pondering whether I should start watching this show and now I definitely will.
Somehow, it pleases me that Rob Lowe is an OK guy
Or has a very good editor.
That's what your mom said to me last night after she ate it with her mouth.
I don't think the East Dillon teachers don't care at all about their students. If that were the case, I bet many of them would've found jobs in wealthier districts or private schools. They're not Hollywood superteachers—they have to conserve their resources and energy for the kids who seem like they'd actually…
Ron and Chris becoming unlikely buddies has some interesting comedic potential.
