That’s not how being a manager works. You’re responsible for the appearance of your staff. If I wore assless chaps to work (even though my dress code doesn’t specifically outlaw assless chaps) it would be someone’s job to tell me not to do that because although some establishments are fine with assless chaps, this one

He’s the manager, looking over the employees appearance is part of the job. It’s also his job to say something if an employee is wearing something inappropriate which means it kinda looks like he’s incapable of doing his job.

So what you’re saying is it’s ok because they don’t work as hard and people should just expect worse service?

Pretty much.  If they’re putting their least skilled employees on the floor at the their busiest times, I’d say they have no idea what they’re doing.  Whether they’re from Australia or not is irrelevant.  It’s a stupid idea in any country.

A penny dropped from beneath the employee’s chin must land outside the shirt.”

Is she wearing her cleavage shirts for religious reasons? If not, Texas has very ‘pro-business’ laws that allow you to fire an employee for just about any reason. So just man up and tell her the truth. It’s not appropriate. Either she accepts it, or you let her go.

That’s what happens when you’re earning tips.  But if you’re getting paid a flat rate, then why would you want to bust your ass?  Let them wait an extra 10 minutes...I’m on break.

Clearly, Big Globe got to Kyrie. We really need Trump to get the justice department to investigate all the harassment the ‘rounders’ give those of us looking for the truth.

No.  The answer you’re looking for is ‘no’

No, I mean it actually won’t work. In the US, much of the time the wait staff speaks English and the kitchen staff speaks Spanish and most waiters use their own shorthand because it makes things go much faster when writing down orders.

The cooks were supposed to read your handwriting? That’s not going to work...

Like what? Name other jobs with no barriers to entry where retaining skilled labor is rewarded? Factory jobs? Maybe...if you’re in a union, but they had to create unions in the first place because that wasn’t happening on its own. Retail? No...they’ll just replace you. Fast food? No...if you’re good at being a fast

Sure.

It’s not hyperbolic. It’s from personal experience. There is a whole world of difference between serving 2 tables an hour during a lunch shift to churning 5-6 tables an hour during a dinner rush.

And how would you know that until you tried it?

Which actually doesn’t make sense at all. You want your best staff on the floor at the your busiest times. That’s actually one problem tipping does solve.
