I definitely can see that Pete Davidson’s comedy is not as “serious” or “important” as Hasan Minhaj’s comedy was believed to be, but I still ultimately think comedians do comedy, and exaggeration of stories is something that should be expected, and trying to hold them to some arbitrary standard isn’t some worthy cause…

Oh, see, sometimes things are implied and not explicit.

I don’t believe you can call stand-up routines “a very serious thesis”. Even if Minhaj is trying to be more of a “serious” comic, it’s still a stand-up routine, and exaggeration is implied.

Wait, so it’s GOOD to get mad at Hasan Minhaj for not telling truth in his standup, but BAD to get mad at Pete Davidson for not telling truth in his stand up? G/O was all over the Minhaj story. Why is Davidson different?

Sports radio lets him talk because he’s a sports man. Right wing media lets him talk because they’re desperate for any non politician celebrity who has right wing views, even if it’s someone as brain-rotted as Rodgers.

It seems like they started the job but didn’t finish. Which is still weird but slightly less weird.

He is definitely his own worst enemy when it comes to image rehab. Absolutely cannot get out of his own way.

That seems to be Bai Ling’s thing. She’s never shied away from showing skin, but it seems like ever since she got implants, her boobs have to feature prominently in everything she shares.

My mental image of Ricky Gervais is just him saying, in an Austin Powers style affectation, “Dew I offend yew?” That’s basically been his whole shtick. But with this recent special, I just literally couldn’t follow what he was mad about.
