They both seem to be behaving exceedingly normally for two adults in a relationship. It’s BORING. Man leaves house of his girlfriend. Woman leaves house of her boyfriend. SHOCKING. Man and woman in relationship both attend party, periodically checking on each other. SCANDAL.

I mean, if they tried to emulate her own written “voice” it would be completely unreadable. I’ve tried parsing out her Instagram post captions, and “meandering” doesn’t even begin to describe them.

Absolutely, regarding the “lived in” feel. They all seem like they belong, and Diaz and (to a lesser extent) DiCaprio do seem sort of out of place. Liam Neeson definitely elevates the proceedings, even if for only a couple scenes. Gleeson and the others definitely feel “of the world” especially Reilly, which is a

It’s definitely a Day-Lewis tour de force, although I also really like the supporting cast - Brendan Gleeson, John C. Reilly, Stephen Graham, and I always like seeing Henry Thomas show up in things.

The fact that it’s a charter school might play into some of the weirdness. The right wing loves to tout “school choice” and charter schools as a “better” alternative to public schools, but a lot of them are just fly-by-night operations with little oversight.

I like Gangs of New York a lot. I think it always gets a bad rap. But even at 3 hours, it’s good to rewatch every now and then.

Definitely good to see Loki doing Loki stuff. When he’s in the TVA he has to rely on being a trickster but it’s fun to check back in to remember that he’s actually really powerful in a non-TVA setting.

I dunno I think the show has been leading up to Cate’s betrayal for a while.

Yeah, I know a lot of the response is “Well, it FEELS real enough, and definitely reflects a lot of women’s experiences!” But it’s still very shitty that this person took the real experiences of two people and then just shoehorned in the shitty parts. You’d think you’d be able to craft a convincing narrative that

The studio heads want to eliminate paying anyone but executives so hard. They’re just waiting until the day they can pivot everything to AI. Sure, it’ll be dogshit, but think of the savings!

It was a little jarring how the episode just drops us in the middle of the hunt for X5 despite not really explaining how all the characters got to that stage.

I enjoyed the episode, but I do agree that Loki’s motivations seem pretty amorphous at this point.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Yeah, really seems to have rubbed a lot of folks in these comments the wrong way, who proclaim that South Park doesn’t do this “anymore”, while also saying they just “attack extremism on both sides equally” and “play the middle/are centrists”. I don’t see an actual difference there.

Again, this is just “both sides bad” and it’s reductive and cynical.

Yeah I think this is a pretty good analogy. Granted, I haven’t followed the full genesis of PC Principal, and aside from the episodes I’ve seen I’m mostly going by how people tend to bring him up in conversation or discussion. But it does seem like the ultimate message of PC Principal as Bazzd tells it may have been

This is just another way of saying “both sides bad”.

Congrats on the dumbest reply so far!

She just took it one step too far. I’ve seen a ton of silver or brown or dark blue or black cars, usually Crown Vics, with light bars and some kind of vague wording with a badge on the side. They’re always some security company. The intent is to look as close to real cops as possible. This lady just did it too well.

I will admit, I haven’t watched enough of the more recent content to know the points you mentioned, but it’s interesting to see that they turned PC Principal into a voice of reason if that’s the case, because all I had seen was people parroting him as if he was some kind of parody to be mocked. It makes me wonder,
