Therese is dying of thirst this whole movie. Someone could make the argument that the age difference is a bit inappropriate, but predatory? Come on. Therese is young but she's an adult who lives on her own and takes care of herself; she isn't a kid.

Yeah, but all Tarantino does is make his action figures punch each other. Any heart that used to be in his work has pretty much disappeared.

I think my favorite is still Desert Hearts, which struck me as being very raw and real (and was directed by a lesbian, so no kidding). But Carol was very well done as well.

I have not seen this movie but this made me laugh, so thank you.

I find that people who make statements like "passion comes from suffering" have usually done very little suffering themselves.

Am I the only one, who upon seeing this tired-ass statement, heard 'black people and young girls like them, therefore I do not"?

His support of other artists and different styles of music was one of the most wonderful things about him.

Honestly, fuck this entire week. I'm going back to bed.

I can't get over how brave and uncompromising that video is. I cried when I watched it yesterday.

If anyone could choose the exact moment of his death, it would be David Bowie. I can't get over what an elegant statement this is.

Same.

God damn it. I so wanted to believe this was just a horrible rumor. There have been three celebrity deaths that have made me cry; Leonard Nimoy, Terry Pratchett and now Bowie. They've all been within about a year. I wanted him to live to be ninety, still showing the kids how it's done.

No more white male antiheroes. That's the only resolution I've got.

I don't think the adults in Harry Potter do a very good job, and I think that's deliberate. Albus Dumbledore, the most powerful wizard alive, deliberately manipulates Harry so he can raise him 'as a pig to the slaughter'. When noted jerk Severus Snape is grossed out by your plan then that's a pretty scary plan. Snape

I find my perspective on the series changed a lot as I got older. I notice the flaws more, sure, but that isn't really what I mean. As a kid it was a stirring, exciting adventure; as an adult it looks like a series about child soldiers and I end up getting blisteringly angry at almost every adult in Harry's life.

I'm not caught up on the show, but it would be kind of cool if there was an arc with Danny going to therapy and it actually doing something for him. TV never does that.

Yes, exactly. Charlize Theron does look really good with short hair but her character gets the most boring, 90's corporate-type haircut she could have. She looked like the opposing counsel on Law&Order after that chop.

Man, this list really doesn't like curly hair. I wish my curls could ever be as defined as bewigged Charlize Theron. And the 'sleeker' cut she trades it for has to be one of the worst she's ever had. It almost managed to make her look unattractive. Also are we supposed to hate her? I thought she was the only

They didn't advertise Schindler's list by slapping colorful Nazi imagery all over someone's morning commute. Same with Platoon. People can choose to see movies, or not, and no one is debating whether The Man in High Castle adaptation should exist. They are saying this edgy tryhard advertising is in poor taste, because

What a great, frank interview. I had no idea she was treated so badly by CBS. And those stories about Madonna and Claudia Schiffer are amazing. Really gives an inside look at the distasteful things about show business.
