This was so good and such a return to form that I don't know what to do with myself. Parallels that were emotionally resonant and not meaningless callbacks! Consistent characterization! A Peggy's pregnancy storyline that didn't piss me off even once! Even Pete got to be a grown up!

I am terrified to ask, but how bad is her death in the comics? I thought 'raped to death' was bad enough, honestly.

I'm always surprised by how well this movie has aged, since it's something of a time capsule. I think it's that operatic scope - it makes it more timeless than it otherwise would have been. That and Lee's performance. My inner 12 year old girl still digs it.

"A nude female corpse is allowable, of course"

Ok dude. You don't need to yell. It will be okay.

I don't think she's supposed to be a terrible person, but a very damaged one. She didn't love David the way he needed - and maybe couldn't, both after losing her own child and then getting him back - but she doesn't want to hurt him, either. She's desperate and there seems to be no real procedure for dealing with the

Human beings are perfectly capable of slaughtering each other en masse and without conscience - and that's our own species. I don't see why we wouldn't do that to A.I's.

I'd never considered that the aliens might be mecha - that would clear up a lot of the confusion I felt over their motivations.

Hmmm, this is really interesting. I do think that the ending they went with suits the fairytale quality of the narrative much better. It's one of those happy endings that isn't really all that happy, and is only achieved after ridiculous amounts of suffering. And the people who hate it rarely seem to understand that

"This episode didn’t make me cry in any way whatsoever."

I have never been able to decide, myself. On the one hand his behaviour was so odd and really did look just like grooming; on the other hand his behaviour was so odd that it would have made him an easy target even if it was innocuous. Either way those poor children were used terribly by somebody. I used to wonder if

I… would not have given this an A. It was mostly nonsense that isn't going to have any impact. Who cares about Diana, or if Stan suddenly cheats on a girlfriend he gave every indication of being happy with? Speaking of, why is it that when people on this show get insecure their pants immediately come flying off? Why

See, I don't quite agree - because Root was very hands-off. It was all guns and poisons and whatever for her. Which is different than trying to fight another person into submission with your hands. Amy Acker said at one point that she would have liked to see a scene where Shaw taught Root hand-to-hand, actually. I

I laughed at both the Chinese food scene and Reese saying, 'Yeah, I should've let you kill her" later on. But the number seemed like an idiot to me - he ran away from people trying to protect him and straight into the arms of people who wanted to kill him.

Sure - but then she decides to kiss on him, which is a huge no-no. For context, the infamous Dr.Phil got his licence to practice taken away because he let a former patient come work for him. And dating a former patient is way worse.

It is odd, and I was very disappointed with his half of the ep because I was looking forward to seeing him run around with Katheryn Winnick.

Yes, and John is totally the kind of person who is primed to experience transference or whatever it's called. He's a very lonely man and team machine is particularly isolated right now.

I think Iris is a Samaritan plant. Otherwise she's just the worlds worst therapist, because at no point should a therapist be dating her former patient. That's a breach of ethics.

Yeah, I reread the Hobbit not long ago and had forgotten how funny it generally was - both Gandalf and the Hobbits (Tolkien's finest creations imo) have great senses of humour.

He used his anger to feed his craft instead.
