Baseball needs ties. This game is too long. If only they could both lose.

I am happy Kershaw, MadBum, Trout, etc. did not play. One game is mostly decided by luck, but with all their best players, the US would be the favorite to win every time. And a tournament that the US always wins, or should win, would be boring.
I enjoyed the WBC, but the ongoing narrative about how MLB teams are reluctant to lets players join (and players themselves reluctant to play) and how US fans are not joyful enough was off-putting. The expectation by some analysts that the WBC should already have World Cup-level fever or be cancelled is ridiculous. I…
I hope PR makes a comeback. They are more fun and unlike the US, their flag is not backwards on the uniforms. Also, the commentators are so biased toward the US team.
Can’t wait to hear the national anthem twice!
While I am sure Cubs fans will embrace a “Cleveland blew a 3-1 lead” meme because they think they’re underdogs, it is not the same. Climbing out of a 3-1 hole should be expected when you have the best record, one of the highest payrolls, and were heavy favorites to win the championship before the season even began.
Same here—I’m all block C and “Cleveland” only. If some company would start making Cleveland Blues (my preference because it goes nicely with Cincy Reds) or Cleveland Spiders shirts, I would gladly buy those and wear them to games instead as a protest.
I am from Cleveland and also a fan of the team, but NOT chief wahoo or the name, really. In the end, they probably will need to change the team name because even if they retire chief wahoo, the image will continue to show up at the park.
