And Andromeda is basically Gene Roddenberry’s “What if the United Federation of Planets collapsed?”

There was an amazing episode of Don’t Trust the he B—— in Apartment 23 that actually took the piss out of Kevin Sorbo, who, playing himself, was tricked into showing up at a fake charity ball. It was actually quite funny.
But honestly this whole theory doesn’t fit with the spirit of Star Trek. I can only hope we will not see a tired ‘cyclical version of history, where the galaxy is now a dark place. Just because it’s going to be different doesn’t mean the Federation should be the evil empire. 930 years ago, Medieval Europe…
So, Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda? ;)
Cyclops Was Right.
You know, I don’t mind the new suit. Trailer’s pretty good!
That’s...a great origin story for a Star Trek AU. Shame we didn’t really see that!
After that episode, I was slavering for a Mirror Universe two-parter on Voyager...when it never happened, I was very disappointed.
And a living, breathing example of the 10% rule...and that slogging through the other ninety to get to the great parts can be worth it!
Not thrilled that Azzarello is the writer...but Emanuella Lupacchino! The art is going to be amazing!
“And a few bad apples spoils the whole cart!”
Damn! Between Paper Girls and Wheel of Time, I will need to get an Amazon subscription. Ugh.
I can’t speak to Bayona’s Spanish-language films, but “the guy who directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” does not inspire confidence.
I’m surprised, but pleasantly excited, that DC is actually making comics and novels for kids. This is how you get people to buy comics! And it doesn’t hurt that they have a pretty cool collection of writers and artists; telling “PG” stories can really produce amazing concepts and ideas that don’t rely on gross-out…
Bucking the trend, Sir Jimbojo! I also I loved the first six books, struggled through the next four, and was not impressed with the ending. Sanderson finished the series with alacrity, to his credit, but the addition of roles of (charitably) tertiary characters and “shocking” twists were...frustrating. Perhaps that…
So excited for casting news! I know they’ll make big changes from the books, but I think this could do the Wheel of Time a lot of good.
Captain Janeway is my favorite captain, and she had the hardest decisions to make and did the most to save her ship, but Captain Pircard is definitely THE Star Trek captain - the embodiment of the best of the Federation, and an inspiration for what we can be as human beings.
I agree with all of your points! It feels like we should maybe learn a lesson from how the latter works weren’t as good.
Very confusing and poorly paced, with seemingly random shots spliced in at odd moments!
This TV series seems like weird corporate decision-making. Dune was a very specific story with a tragic, dark world built to showcase human failings, not a canvas on which to paint new stories. Herbert’s later sequels kind of spun off the rails, while KJ Anderson and Brian Herbert’s added material was under-baked at…
