Jason, do you think Xbox Game Studios will eventually be the software king - distributing an empire of “xbox” games - on all platforms? Sort of how Microsoft software is excellent on a Macbook, even for folks who won’t buy a Windows PC?

Well there goes hope of seeing a sunset overdrive 2 😶

Jesus Christ, they dragged a big lasso around BotW’s landscape/terrain assets, Ctrl-c, Ctrl-v, and then added some anime chicks.

So this actually come from Mihoyo, a Chinese company better known for their Honkai Impact series which curiously have their own company website listed as mihayo dot com. Anyways it doesn’t come as a surprise that they totally copied the style and game design from BoTW, considering their country of origin.

To be fair, they were only mighty for a brief period of time and were riding on their clout like a trust-fund kid for a good portion of the last decade. Even their “greats” were pretty flawed experiences that audiences(including myself) gave a pass, cause it was “Bethesda.

You know, I was actually gonna buy 1 & 2 for quick, cheap nostalgia.

But with this shit I’ll pass. No shortage of nostalgia on the switch.

I’m not surprised by this at all.

Bethesda... oh how the mighty have fallen.

A Bethesda.net account is required to respond to this post.

It’s times like these I remember how weirdly dystopian Steam is. “Buy more games so you can win this cute metagame to be entered into a lottery to win more games” and the unintended ramifications for both developers and customers is something I’d expect out of a too-on-the-nose cyberpunk setting.

They did away with the events, people complained, they seem to be bringing them back.

It sucks because last gen they were strong, launching earlier and cheaper and still competitive.

Scope creep. Wasted funds. Misappropriated funds. Shit product.
Take your pick.

When the head of PlatinumGames, Atsushi Inaba, says that both MS and Platinum share blame, that kind of hints at a bad product.

I think both are true. It shouldn’t have come out when it did (neither should Fallout 76, Destiny, Destiny 2, Anthem, or almost any other live service game, honestly), but it also benefited GREATLY from player feedback.

...no?

Um no. You didn’t sell an early access game you sold a full priced “finished” release. Its great that it is a better state today but if you need a year of data from players to make a good product than say so at launch and give it a price that reflects that. Release now and we promise to finish later mentality today is

what an embarrassingly/cringy stupid post, lol

No corporations care about you.  No corporations are your friends.
