I think they were referring to the fact that 50 Shades started out as Twilight Fanfiction (Called Master of the Universe), in which Christian was originally Edward, and Ana was Bella. The author literally took her piece posted on fanfiction.net, did a find and replace for the names, and sold it as an original work…
