One school of thought is that this isn’t another example of a laughably bad Trump ass covering, but it’s a test by the GOP to measure how blatantly Trump can lie to his base so they have a good sense of how far he can push it in 2020.

Well it does suck a bit that the city is the one paying and not the dickhead cops who probably suffered no more than a short suspension with pay.

Well... When I was in college, my student body prez was kidnapped, robbed, and murdered ... and we installed a bench on campus in her honor (a really pretty sculptural thing shaped like a butterfly). I don’t think I heard a single person speaking out against the memorial.

Yeah, why a plaque for this assault and not the thousands of others? The whole thing just seems extremely weird. 

I thought that was unusual as well, but I everybody processes their pain in different ways. I am rather surprised that Stanford let it get to the stage where what would be written on a presumably approved plaque was considered.
