While I’m all for players getting paid, this whole “Hey, I know we have a contract, but I don’t like it” thing is really getting out of hand.  Real change comes through a different set of rules, not some guy sitting out when he has 2 or 3 years of team control left.  

The craziest part of this whole situation is how much money has been sunk into this thing.

Not just a catcher in his case, but a catcher that’s a bit of a whisperer when it comes to young pitchers, jumps at the chance to help any way he can, and great in both the community and the clubhouse.  Russ is just a great human being all around.  

They aren’t going to go up yet, because the cost of incidents hasn’t gone up yet.  Once it does, and a small incident goes from 1500 bucks to 5 grand, they’ll move.

This is the perfect comparison. Some artists just push it way outside their genre, and become appointment viewing regardless of whether you like their style. Missy’s definitely in that group.

No question...but we’ve also been living in a place where minor accidents like an Audi rear-ending a pickup didn’t cost $15,000 to repair everything, too.  Between the radar stuff and the cameras, we’re close to reaching the place where there aren’t any minor accidents anymore.

I love all these new features, but between the 75,000 dollar price tag, the insurance premiums that are going to ggo up as companies pay big bucks to replace this stuff (the average cost of an accident is going to be a lot higher), the cost of owning a pickup truck has gotten just bonkers.  

Wait...so it’s not okay to root for security to take some idiot on the field’s head off? Because I’m rooting for that. Every. Single. Time.
