i love how, when kramer introduces "Mr. George Costanza!", then turns to get jerry and elaine to move down, he turns to see a confused george walking on set, and points and laughs hysterically at george as though he's said or done something hilarious.  one of my favorite moments in all of seinfeld.

i love the name's of george's horses in the hamptons— snoopy and prickly pete.

i think tom cruise is the only actor that i actually get mad when talented directors that i like put him in their movies.  sure, i wonder what in hell martin scorcese sees in leonardo dicaprio, who seems only mildly talented.  or talentless "actors" like marky mark or justin timberlake, who's tastes in projects don't

no, all i can see is tom cruise being a cocky asshole, then tom cruise way over emoting.  i just don't buy it.  there's never a character there with tom cruise— not since risky business (the only role i've ever bought him as playing an actual character).

nia vardalos has never been in anything good.  and if you told me she was in, say, pulp fiction, in one of the diner booths, i might just have to have a change of heart about that.

yeah, i like that in spite of him.  and he plays the villain/an asshole, so you're supposed to not like him.

sliding doors was slight, but charming i thought.  and i have to admit, i never saw great expectations— i was just guessing on that one.

he's fine in superbad.

you're right, gwenyth did have a coupla good years there…

i actually hated the stuff with tom cruise in magnolia, which i otherwise loved (he wasn't in it enough to ruin it for me like his other films).  i think it's stupid, and i think that cruise has no business being in that movie.

i swear, i started writing an email to the a.v. club with this very question about 3 months ago.  i swear!  just ask my friends!

jerry as raef is jerry's funniest moment in the entire series.  maybe tied with his wearing glasses to fool lloyd braun.

david puddy.

yeah, although i don't think this particular episode is all that funny, i'm glad they did kill her off, as i absolutely love everything after with susan's parents and really like his working with the foundation.

but the only funny thing in the finale was jerry's prison stand-up, with kramer and george in the audience (i think over the end credits).  if they didn't go to jail, then the only laugh in the entire 45 minutes wouldn't have happened.

it is THE least funny episode of seinfeld in it's entire run, including some of those pretty damn unfunny first season ones, like that chiklis one (or was that second season?).

i didn't, and don't, have a problem with them killing off susan, i just don't think it's that funny.  it probably wouldn't even make my top 30.  i much prefer kramer and mickey fighting onstage.

the r.e.m. version's pretty great, though.

but that doesn't preclude him then visiting an earlier time and giving someone the idea of naming someone who saves lives "doctor".  chicken and egg, you know?

this was the first i'd heard that he was forced to work with unit as well.  i'd always thought he'd been exiled, and he chose earth (not so sure on that one), and while he was trapped here, he naturally gravitated to all the alien invasions going on in england at the time, as was unit, hence them working together.
