So I’m reading this 5 years in the future now, and holy shit, Doug was super wrong about the Type-R. Not only did dealerships NOT remove the absurd markups, they persisted until the end of the 10G Civic’s life cycle. You can’t buy a regular new Type-R without at least a $5k markup, and some dealers are trying to sell

As the owner of a front-mid engine car, I offer your two coworkers each a hearty smack upside the back of the head.

Honda/Acura NSX. Why? Because if Honda never built this car, which proved that a supercar could be daily driven AND reliable, we’d still have supercars today that would burst into flames and/or fall apart because you looked at it too hard.

I have a 2016 Honda Accord Touring for my daily 15 mile commute from the South Bay to West LA (which can also easily take up to an hour or more each way). It checks all of readers boxes, and they could get a brand new 2017 model for within their budget. If getting a hybrid is an absolute must, consider the 2017 Accord

I was thinking the same thing. Either that Lightning, or a Ram SRT/10 or at least a Ford Raptor.
