He hired Cruz’s comms guy and the twitter’s been on lockdown. But that should have made it MORE likely he’d put out a statement on this, not less.

Off topic, but of general interest to this crowd: Donald Trump’s pivot toward being more presidential continues apace:

I have to say, I’m actually completely baffled by his radio silence on this one. Of the conservatives I know who aren’t voting for Trump, at least one (a staunchly religious dude) specifically cites the fact that Trump doesn’t seem to be sincerely anti-abortion as his motivating reason. He had an easy layup to condemn

Jesus. Yeah, it’s a real damn shame someone might take away her right to protect herself or her family.

He is an old, rich, angry dude who has been surrounded by sycophants since he was six years old. Trying to control him when he knows - KNOWS - he is saying what his supporters want to hear is an impossible gig. It’s going to be so fun to watch him stay contained through the convention (because he somehow thinks

I think they’re desperately trying but he insists on doing rallies. I heard a few weeks ago that he refuses to do any fundraising events unless he can also schedule a rally in the same place, which doesn’t work - he doesn’t need to be doing rallies in the deep red places he can hold private fundraisers, and vice

It means they’d rather she be handling it than Trump.

*and wanted to put convicted racist Mike Tyson onstage at his convention. Can’t forget that part.

I’d honestly rather see Hillary and the Dems running like they’re about to lose. I’ve seen too many Bernie voters who are like “well, if Clinton can’t beat him without us, she doesn’t deserve to be president” kind of sentiments that could lead to Brexit-style protest voting. Maybe if the threat of a Trump presidency

This poll was as of June 1. Every other poll, including the tracking polls, shows her widening a gap on Trump throughout June.

Honestly, I’m glad the polls are all over the place. In the primaries there was a lot of what Nate Silver calls “herding” - where results that seem like outliers in comparison to other polls on the same subject tended to be weeded out - pollsters didn’t trust their own methodology, and all the results wound up looking

In eye-talicks and EVERYTHING! Hurr durr we dummies all oughta just be grateful for the free learnin’!

Oh thank god an anonymous commenter has come to educate us all on the rules of journalism.

Manafort: “Hey, just checking in on everything. How are we looking?”

Given that a bunch of his campaign people came from his foundation and there are some questionable accounting practices going on over there, I’d say there are lots of laws his foundation isn’t following.

You and Trump have one thing in common - neither of you is a billionaire.

I was originally very much against the “Warren for VP” campaign, but I’ve come around, because Trump is fucking OBSESSED with her. For all his bluster about Hillary, I don’t actually think he personally dislikes her - they’ve run in the same rich NY circles for years. But Warren is an elitist academic who refuses to

“The right side of his body is kind of held together by metal bands, but he’s gettin’ around, drivin’ equipment, doing his thing.”

Could have been that he just had the AP number in his phone (from a previous comment or request) and then accidentally auto filled the “to” field.

It’s even a better idea in red states because there's no risk. It would be hilarious if there were some, like, strange statistical blip where Jill Stein picked up a huge voter base in, like, Oklahoma.
