Loved seeing Call of Juarez: Gunslinger on here. Great game. It’s also very affordable, and can be played through in a couple of afternoons. Binary Domain and Alpha Protocol are other welcome suggestions, and it’s nice to see Bioshock 2 not getting thrown under the bus.
Because the ‘30s cars are in keeping with the art style, which is based on vintage Art Deco travel posters.
I’m old enough to have seen the original Star Wars in theaters, and played with all the toys when they first came out. When we were kids, Imperial walkers were called At Ats, and AT-STs were called scout walkers. I believe At At is even the official name. Of course, none of this is helped by the fact that George Lucas…
Idiot.
Idiot.
The friends at work I talked about this with think it’s ugly and stupid, and the one who owns an actual Mustang is bitterly disappointed.
You’re right, you’re making a VERY pedantic argument. And honestly, in the vast majority of cases when someone is being paid to design or build something, they don’t get to slap their name on it. The person who wrote the check gets to name it. You might not like this, but let me ask you this: Are you going to start…
This set is very cool, but there’s also a smaller “Limited Edition” version of the same car being offered as a free gift with purchase when you buy this set, which seems stupid to me. Lego, please sell the smaller, but still very nice version, on its own for people like me who don’t want to spend $250 on a Lego set…
Movie fans aren’t likely to get sued for referring to it as the “Burton Batmobile” in casual conversation. Lego, however, probably would, especially if that were printed on the box, etc. That’s the only reason this is being called the “1989 Batmobile.”
LMFAO. “The Army did most of the work.” Not on Guadalcanal or Iwo Jima or a lot of other islands they didn’t. Or, you know, all the fucking naval battles.
I’ve come to think of this trilogy as, at best, an imitation of Star Wars, and, at worst, fan fiction.
Tony Stark in any of the Marvel movies. I understand the need for marketing tie-ins and product placement and all that, but Tony Stark should drive a car of his own design and manufacture, much like he does in the comics and animated shows/movies.
Former Editor-in-Chief here (Hence the EIC). I reviewed everything we published. I understand that at higher volume outlets this can be difficult to impossible, but I wouldn’t include Kotaku amongst those. I would think that Stephen could review, or at least be really familiar with, everything that his staff publishes…
I played on a standard Xbox One. Most of the stuttering I encountered was when going into/out of menus, unpausing the game, etc. Other than that, it’s mostly fine, aside from the rare instance when there’s a lot going on. Even then, the game never comes anything close to unplayable.
Have you ever been to a car race in person? The best part is listening to the cars go by when they’re at full throttle. In drifting, they’re ALWAYS at full throttle.
Red Storm Rising is really good, and I can’t really think of a reason why it wouldn’t still be good today.
That one looks great, too.
The Firebird decal is cool when you really stop to look at it and admire the design and style. There’s just nothing else like it.
I’m really surprised Julius Caesar hasn’t gotten a mention. One of our months is named after him, and various versions or depictions of him show up in popular culture all the time, from movies and tv shows to pizza chains and casinos.
