I choked on sticky rice once. I barely eat sushi anymore because of it. Choking is pretty insane. You immediately panic and panicking makes it a lot worse. The heimlich doesn't always work either.

The martial arts were great and the cast was pretty good, but the show never seemed sure of what to do with all it’s high concepts. The barons were a cool idea, as were the super powered monks but we barely got to see them before the show moved on to something else.

I haven’t found anyone else yet who is, but I am looking forward to Kingdom on Netflix later this month.

Did the show ever imply that it wasn’t wrong for Eve to hit her husband? I didn’t get that impression at all.

I think her fascination with Eve is that Eve is the only person who’s truly gotten into her head. Eve, to some extent “gets her”. Eve is also a couple of bubbles off center, she’s just not a violent psychopath, although she is not above making a violently psychopathic threat when pushed.

You might do best to skip to the beginning of season 2 — at that point, it commits to the goofball tendencies that make it work, after having pruned off the things that didn’t work in season 1.

Legends of Tomorrow is a purely fun show with a lot of heart that knows exactly what it is. It is the antidote to all the superhero shows that take themselves too seriously and get all broody.

iZombie is the best show the CW has on air. How Rose McIver isn’t Brie Larson-levels of famous by now, I’ll never know.
