I know it wouldn’t be just you, but the multiplier required to make any company in modern America notice you is massive. That’s the problem I addressed in the last paragraph; you really do need millions - tens of millions, in some cases - of people to coordinate a boycott of these massive corporations. Like I said,

These people promised to make life terrible for us and people we care about. If they fail, that’s a good thing. You should be rooting for them to fail!

Of course it’s okay to wish death on people. It’s only not okay to try to act on it, or to encourage others. Commiserate with like-minded folks, but do not try to encourage others to want people dead. That is a very dangerous road.

Instead of hurting retailers, who sell more than just Trump merchandise, why not just don’t buy Trump merchandise? Because if you boycott a marketplace or mall-type company like Amazon, for example, and Amazon is the provider of another product you want, you’re not hurting Amazon with the boycott as much as you’re

It’s almost as if people are complicated.

Well, yes. I agree with that. But those things favor them exclusively. Expanding the government in a more neutral way, or a way that could eventually be used against them, like expanding representation in Congress, would not likely fly, I think.

That’s true, but I wasn’t coming at it from a Dem vs Rep in power angle; I just meant from a pure size standpoint. Increasing the size, and cost, of the Senate by 50% would be more of a deal breaker for the Republican side, I suspect, since they have always been the party of “small government”.

.

You, not her, are the problem here.

A full “repeal and replace” would take a while, and would require the cooperation of Congress.

Exactly. 60 million voted for him, and 92 million eligible voters stayed home - despite seeing this guy on TV every day for the last 18 months and knowing what he’s all about. 92 million people watched this guy, heard what he said, and just went, “Eh. Whatever.”

Do ya? Do ya really? You have cold hard numbers.

I’ve been saying this! Well not that he looks like Luke, but that he looks like Luke’s evil twin. Or his evil clone, Luuke.

Are you fucking serious? You’re pinning this on Jill Stein voters? Yeah, they didn’t help, but they are not the reason we lost the fucking thing. There is always a third-party turnout.

Wait, so posting things on Facebook and commenting on articles on Gawker/Gizmodo/Jezebel/Deadspin DOESN’T get the attention of people that actually matter?

While I would love to see an increase in representation like that, just adding one Senator per state would literally increase the size of the Senatorial side of the legislative branch by 50%. The extra Senator, their staff, their office in Washington, their office in their home state, the infrastructure that goes with

Don’t waste your time calling people that don’t represent you to complain. Instead, call the people that do represent you and thank them. Tell them that you support them. Tell them that you support their initiatives - and list specific bills. Do your research.

I realized last night how well I can fake it with my Trump-voting in-laws, and today with my Trump-voting neighbor across the street. In both cases, these are people that will be in my life, and my kids’ lives, for years and years to come. Blowing up at them and getting into a fight isn’t going to change or solve

I guess Gives No Fucks Obama is gone now. I mean, I get why that is... he can’t very well undermine the next president, because that undermines the peaceful transition of power. We liberals said, after Trump’s refusal in the debate to commit to the election results, that the peaceful transition of power was

Sorry, she wants nothing to do with you.
