I prefer fluxing and then soldering wires together, then using heat shrink tubing over the join. Those dry crimp connectors often fail on me, and are a pain to chase down after the fact. On the rare occasion that I do a crimp connection, I’ll at least put some di-electric grease on each end.
Probably worth the price, BUT.....it’s rougher than the posting lets on. Look at the bottom of the driver’s door; it’s got more rot hiding underneath. Still repairable, but this car is far from being a museum piece. The motor seems to not be original, and the mileage....1967 was pre-metric, so whatever they say it is…
Unfortunately, spraying the underside with used motor oil is now illegal, so you’re only like 35 years out of date on that one....
Boston. Need I say any more?
I agree with your ideas. I’ve been to California many times, and it never ceases to amaze me that it’s perfectly legal for any crotch-rocket to zoom between cars, provided that you are not exceeding the overall speed limit. It startles some people, makes other people mad, and generally pisses of car drivers against…
Your first suggestion (STAY HOME) is really the only thing you need to know down in the south. Even those who have some knowledge of winter driving, or at least take some time to practice can’t avoid the fact that nobody else knows how to drive, and you’ll likely be involved in an accident even while you are…
Flying out to visit my sister from Rochester to Indianapolis, via O’Hare on United. Got to the airport to find that snow was approaching Chicago, so my flight was cancelled. BUT, they sent me to Northwest, with a transfer in Detroit. So, I took the transfer, and boarded the DC-9 to Detroit. Quick flight to DET, and…
Being that it’s a Jeep, it needs to have things that people can recognize as being typical to Jeeps. This means technology set in stone circa 1940, with no allowance for anything “new” like independent suspensions, square headlights, or pansy-@$$ dual electric motors. REAL Jeeps have crunchy, crude manual gearboxes.…
“Couche-Tard”? Sounds like an insult!!
Don’t fool yourself in thinking that you are “zero emissions”. Not by a long shot. Manufacturing those panels created emissions. Manufacturing your batteries created emissions. Manufacturing your tires created emissions. The only way to live truly ‘zero emissions’ is to go live in a cave, and eat all your food raw....
Wow, the dash isn’t even cracked!!!
I feel the same way. Having once owned an Omni GLH Turbo, I’m familiar with this engine, and know that there is still more power to get out of it-plus parts are still available. Yeah, the 3-sp slushbox doesn’t help, but this thing does have potential!
Trump had an “unsteady gait” because he wears lifts to make himself about 3" taller.
All that for $7-10k? Just WHAT are you smoking??? My advice to you is this: keep an eye outside your window. If, at some point in the future you actually see a pig flying past, then you know it’s time to start looking....
Funny you should mention the B-29. Late in the war, a B-29 had to make an emergency landing on the Kamchatka peninsula in the USSR. At that time, the B29 was the newest and most advanced plane we had. The Russians treated the crew very well, but they kept the plane, supposedly to make repairs. Several months later (at…
You think that’s bad? Years ago, there was a gag going around about a merger between Honeywell and Fairchild Semiconductors. The new company was to be called...........Farewell Honeychild!
I have a feeling that, 20 years from now, some comedian will develop a character who is a bit shiftless, and always brings a cord to plug his 20 year old EV into your outlet when he comes to visit. Maybe we’ll even get used to seeing people hijacking a charge from houses next to streets with parking? Charging cords…
“Hack journalism” at it’s finest! A whole bunch of unproved suppositions combined with slander. Somehow I think that the FLDS attorneys are going to have issues with this article and sue your asses into oblivion...
Gee, my Nomex suit isn’t ‘stiff’. Maybe yours needs a trip to the cleaners......
