Yes, there was actually a kit for this; not sure if it’s still available, but it came with 1 hole saw, 2 rubber plugs, all camshafts, as well as all the seals.

LONG LIVED???? In what parallel universe? Back in the late 80's, there was no shortage of ~100,000 mile Volvos with bad V6 motors. A friend of mine would buy them cheap, then drop 4-cylinder motors from wrecked Volvos (which would last ~400,000 miles with no problem), and sell them for a handsome profit. It helped…
Gee...after seeing his Instagram post, I guess he’s into ‘watersports’!!!
Lousy idea for spectators. I remember 30-some years ago, there was an AMC Alliance cup race. Fields of 30-40 of these little 80hp wheezers, all drafting for their life’s worth; a string of 20+ rubbing bumpers. Problem was, since these things can only managed 90 mph absolutely flat-out, putting them on a longer track…
That Derby she’s pictured with looks an awful lot like a Miller racer from the same era.
Math lesson: 1 functional car=$500. 5 non-functional cars are $100 each, 5x$100=$500. $500 + $500=$1000. I know that “math is hard”, but any second grader should’ve caught THIS error....
I’m surprised that Syracuse, NY isn’t on the itinerary...
Yes...look at Kodak!
You would think that, after 115 years, they’d FINALLY introduce an offset crank?
Well, not really. “Stove paint” (or “engine paint”) is developed for high-heat situations. AFAIK, it has only ever been offered in black.
No, it started with NASCAR back in the 1950's.
Wow, what a slow-loading page! After 5 minutes only 4 pics loaded? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Hope it waves when it passes Elon Musk’s roadster.......
Wow, an engine that was produced for 25 years was “doomed”? Hyperbole much? FWIW, the VW type 1 motor was also ‘compromised’, with an oil cooler parked under the shroud right above the #3 cylinder. This caused so much heat that VW distributor caps retard just that on cylinder a couple of degrees, to keep the heat down.
They didn’t have them in 1994, either. As for NHRA, that has to be the single most boring sport on the planet; they can’t even TURN. And, since Senna died, there have been many great drivers. Ricciardo and Hamilton come to mind, maybe even VerStappen.
Wow....I see that you follow F1 really closely, considering that refueling, ABS, traction control, etc have been banned for at least a decade.....but please, tell us more!
Gee, Beetle 4-speeds were one of the easiest transmissions to “float gears” on. I did it literally MOST of the time driving it. Once nursed back a 1978 Honda civic with a broken clutch cable that way. Shifted Eaton Fuller 9-speeds on tractor-trailers for years that way, and they aren’t even synchronized!
We lived in Colorado when I was a kid before we moved to New York. We used to do a LOT of mountain driving there, and when my dad taught me how to drive (here in NY), he told me to always gear-down for this one really steep hill near where we lived.
Let’s be honest; Sarah Huckleberry Sandbag is a mean cow of a woman who lies and berates journalists for a living. I think anything INCLUDING calling her a liar to her face is considerably less than most of the insults coming from this administration. Honestly, I wonder why the press corps even bothers going to her…
I’m surprised that it wasn’t referred to as a “grizzly murder”.....
