Some places in CA have “EV PARKING ONLY / WHILE CHARGING” to make it even more clear that the spot has only one purpose.

Love the idea. My only question is why use colored pegs to hold everything in place rather than clear plastic or even some fishing line (since they’re buoyant)?

That’s my point though: the money is still out there, but the government prefers corn over crop X. They prefer electric development over further ICE development.

True, but looking at corn, for instance, the subsidies are not just incentive for farmers to only grow corn, but not to grow, say, soybeans, or wheat, or alfalfa. Corn may still be sold, but the elimination of the subsidy could drive prices even higher still if enough farmers decided it wasn’t worth their time to

I think gratuities are fine, but my issue is that they are expected for even the most basic of tasks. Did you do your job to the letter? Did you treat a customer with basic human decency? That’s what your wage or salary is covering; your wage is the thanks you get for doing your job. I don’t see why meeting

Neutral: If EVs can’t sell on their own merits, then they’re not really the future, are they?

The one benefit I see to this is that at least one hand is guaranteed to be on the wheel still. It’s a low bar, but I’ve definitely seen people steering with (presumably) knees while texting with two hands.

INCEPTION

If you’re in your late 20s/early 30s and haven’t gone through a downturn, well, this is what happens cyclically.

Except by doing it that way, when you *do* need it, it’s going to cost a shit ton more. Everyone buys it in case you need it. It’s the same with any kind of insurance - the net costs are low because not everyone needs it at once.

You can say the same thing about serving a plate of food or carrying luggage, or making a latte.

I’m totally on board for them getting paid for the work they do, but housekeeping falls in a weird area for me; a tip is for extra service, but they’re just doing what’s expected of them. I don’t know how you could be extra about cleaning a room.

Heard of it, never seen it.

The only German-built VWs sold in the US are eGolf and Golf R, and given the low speed and lack of the temp gauge on the left tube, I’d agree that it’s an eGolf.

I can’t tell if the Jalopnik lede image is heavily compressed or that image is a bad Photoshop. Look at the suspiciously rectangular pixelation (suggesting the PS selection tool) around all the words in question. How “Fuck o” is more blurry than “f USA”.

OK, but I mean, once you’ve reached adulthood you’ve almost certainly seen a movie where someone stays in a fancy hotel with a concierge character.

I still daily my 1996 Millenia, albeit the 2.5 V6 that also saw usage in the 626, not the 2.3 Miller Cycle version. It’s a fantastic car, and I still have trouble finding a modern car that really feels anywhere close to how good that one does.
