If you open a ‘public accommodation business’ that provides wedding cakes - you have agreed to provide wedding cakes to anyone no matter their demographic (depending on local and federal laws and regs).
So, yes. The general public has the right to access the goods/services of a business that chose to be a ‘public

Jesus told his disciples if a man asks you for your coat, give him your cloak as well, and if a man tells you to walk with him a mile, walk with him two. (It’s my understanding the occupying Romans were all about impressing the local guys into carrying their packs around.)

Well, yeah, and these issues are cherry-picked based on their modern relevance. Most religious texts frown on divorce, but that’s a “family value” now. The Abrahamic religions talk about men owning dozens of wives, but polygamy is “just wrong”. In America, the religious right is only defined by its neo-reactionary

They’re just hating the sin! It’s nothing personal against the sinner (who they love, of course! Like an angry parent about to belt you for your own good love!)

The reason these people are so honest about their discrimination is that they really feel justified in it. They are in controlled spaces with like-minded people who remind them that exclusion is good. In a prior decade, they’d be saying: “No hard feelings, though! It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s your color.” A

It’s funny how the conservatives are all about “states’ rights” until they don’t like the law the state made. Then all of a sudden they’re all about the “constitution.”

…and this is why Azucar Bakery in Denver did not have to write homophobic shit on the cakes they baked. They were perfectly willing to sell jerkwad two bible-shaped cakes, but they wouldn’t do the writing for him. they were willing to serve him and even sell him the decorating bags and tips so he could write his hate

For any who think this is a First Amendment issue:

That buzzing you hear is the sound of 10,000,000 conservatives getting outrage boners.

The civil rights act doesn’t even protect people based sexual orientation. It is still legal in places to discriminate against people in housing and employment based on their orientation. Not sure about gender identity because that count as sex based discrimination sometimes. It might depend on who you ask though.

When they say religious liberties, they mean something very specific. They mean the legal right to discriminate against gay people in housing, employment, and commerce. We might be able to get married, but they are still going to fight to keep us second class citizens. The war is not over. Gay marriage was just one

Perfect picture is perfect

I actually had something similar happen to me once. I was seeing a guy, wouldn’t really call him my boyfriend, per se, but definitely didn’t know he was dating anyone else, let alone engaged. A friend called me one day asking if I’d seen the local paper. His wedding announcement was in there, picture and all. Dumbass

Our mayyyybe, he was lying to her again. First, it’s just a bizarre promo video? Then it’s just an engagement party so lavish, it’s fancier than most weddings? With wedding dresses and wedding cakes? Yeah, I’m sure he’s finally telling the truth now, after lying about being in a serious relationship with another

“We haven’t had sex in years”, “I was forced to marry her because she got pregnant and I never loved her”, “She has a terminal illness”.

“...the most gullible woman on the planet AND the one hell of a sociopath.” Yep, that’s the combination made in heaven. They’re all around you.

Thanks - I searched the comments page for “sociopath” because THAT.

When I confronted him today, he admitted that he’s engaged.

That is almost the weirdest part! It all starts because she sees wedding photos and by the end he has somehow convinced her he’s only engaged? HOW? I think we’ve found the most gullible woman on the planet AND the one hell of a sociopath.
