Or...maybe we're just expecting a wee bit too much critical thought out of a pop star?

NO. It IS cultural. It is not specific to any branch of Islam (or any other religion).

I knew there were some very good reasons (beyond heat exhaustion) that I hated Bikrams. This comes as absolutely no surprise. Yet another nail in the yoga coffin...

Also, I didn't say what kind of aggression; social/relational aggression, especially online, is definitely up, even if physical violence isn't.

I was speaking of her work in general, not this specific article.

As a high school teacher, I find most of Twenge's work credible and compelling. Young people thesedays are showing a remarkable upswing in behaviours traditionally considered agressive and narcissistic. Of course, a lot of that probably just has to do with being young...but it doesn't account for all of it.

Maybe not racist so much as stupidist. Also...does this mean taxes on hair relaxing and weaves are racist?

A million times this.

I really find pale, hairy man-thighs repugnant. So for me, bermudas are the shortest a dude should go.

This company also refused to sign on to the Bangladesh accord (as far as I know),so it's doubly evil in my books.

I hate this clean-plate guilt you speak of. It has ruined so many otherwise nice dinners for me.

Me too. My mother has since apologized for doing that to me...but I too have some pretty fucked up feelings about it...and about food.

That's odd; I was usually a 6/8 in UK when I lived there and am almost always a 6 at H&M (and have been for years). That discrepancy is odd; perhaps other UK retailers are inflating their vanity sizing?

I can completely understand. It's so unfortunate when that happens!

AW! C'mon! DETAILS. If your're gonna be like that!

Okay, anyone know any of the affected folks? Can we get some good old fashioned word of mouth warning on this one?

I'm sorry, but male tank tops...NO. I'd rather see a guy with his pants rolled up to his neck than that.

WIN!

Is it bad that I'd totally love to snog Simon Pegg?

I'm in Canada and have lived in Britain, so I just got used to their sizes and don't really think twice about it. But if it says "US 6" and so on, that is pretty fucked. Then again, American sizes are so warped (hello Vanity sizing) it's more like US sizing from the sixties...maybe all the other companies need to stop
