Well said! I just literally popped out my first kid (5 days ago), so I am a complete novice, but my gut tells me there is no shortcut to safe parenting. I don't expect it to be easy or convenient, and I certainly don't expect devices to raise my child for me. As a Canadian, I appreciate our government's tough stance

Yup, they are awful. I want to throat-punch parents that use them.

Holy fuck. How do these fuckups get into my noble profession in the first place? How I wish teacher's colleges and school boards would screen more carefully.

Great point. I couldn't agree more.

As a former University sex advice columnist (one of the first), I'd just like to say...it's not what you write about, it's HOW you write about it. Sure, library sex is nothing new, especially for those of us who have lived a little, bit much of the university population just wants to read something slightly

Huh? Coming from Canada here (which is currently in a baby boom)...what planet do you live on?

Amen; I just did my part for Canada's birth rate. I can't even imagine having a child in the US.

Bahahaha. Typical!

Well, it is MY space.

Well, I'll tell you what; I'm 40 weeks pregnant (and in labour now, yay!), and that gives you some really fucking awful crotch pain ("lightning crotch" from baby's head smacking against the nerves in your pubic area), and it can be very uncomfortable to sit with your legs closed. But you know what? I do it anyway. I

Pussy pedestal? Oh FFS, get over your imaginary "war on men." What I'm talking about is common decency.

A million times this. What a fuckwad.

Yep, it's the "civilized"equivalent of marking your territory with piss.

Aw, is the poor little boy afraid his nutses will get crushed?

YES.

I'm Canadian, so I can't help but compare. We were hit by the recession too, but amazingly we are having a baby boom up here right now...probably because our socialist healthcare and employment insurance systems help support and provide for families. No one has to lose their job or go into massive debt to have a baby

THIS.

No state or nation wide guranteed maternity leave. Sky-high medical costs and difficult insurance companies. Discrimination against women, mothers and especially single mothers. A rock-bottom minimum wage. The "mommy wars." Yes, the list goes on and on.

I'm now overdue with my first child and was soooo sure the full moon last night was going to get this labour on the road, because, you know, my whole life I've been told this is a real thing. No such luck. Fuck you moon!

No kidding. I'm bipolar; where do I sign?
