I stand by my initial assessment. Rewatch the video. At the 0:04 -0:05 mark, you can clearly see there were no cars in front of the SUV. The SUV driver was the car stopping traffic in his lane.
I’ll just keep harping on this every time I see an autocar story.
Except the story was about erratic human behavior by another car almost causing the Tesla to wreck and the attentive driver taking over as they were paying attention like they’re supposed to.
Can we talk about why he’s going so fast next to a lane with solid brake lights? No one appeared to be in the lane to the left of him... Quick reflexes yes, but common sense? None.
