Got this vintage aftermarket Audiovox radio installed so now I can jam out to 8-tracks in the car. Terrible sound quality, but what do you expect from 70s equipment? Also got my dashboard restored, is has been remachined and been dyed the original gold color used on the special editions. Finally, welded up my cracked…
I’m moving to the Detroit area in a month and need a place to live. Can anyone suggest good suburbs or even apartment complexes to live in? I will be working in Warren so a commute around 30 minutes is totally fine.
I need this in my life.
I moved to Madison for the summer and am looking for things to do when I’m not working, any suggestions? Don’t fear, I have the whole drink beer and eat brats thing covered.
Good first introduction into the world of Indycar. Pretty happy with how some of these pictures turned out, I always enjoy the challenge of shooting race cars. No editing, these are straight out of the camera.
Anyone else going? I’ve never been to an indycar race before but was given free GA tickets. Should be a fun day at the track.
And the awesome guys from the Slipstream Podcast were there to do commentary - My first race of the day begins at 66:30
There was some unusual traffic to say the least.

I’m having a bit of a problem figuring out how to wire the ignition system since everything is a frankenstein of parts. I need my ‘64 ignition switch to play nicely with the ‘77 coil and starter. So far I’ve tried to get the starter motor to run off the weird ‘64 relay and I can can get the motor to spin but not…
It’s not nearly as easy to do a nice paint job when it’s freezing outside and you can’t remove the accessories, power wash the thing, or put it on an engine stand! But nevertheless I’m happy with how it looks. Tomorrow all brackets and pulleys get sand blasted and painted black. New motor mounts should come in the…
Engine swapping a rubber bumper MG engine into a chrome bumper car. It’s so much smaller of an engine than my Trans Am lol.
With Adblock Plus running this is what the Jalopnik FP looks like for me. I use Adblock primarily just so I can delete website panels I don’t like. The load time from a Chrome new tab is 1.63 seconds averaged over 5 tests.
Just finished bedding in my new brake pads and the rear wheel flew off the car. Suspension is messed up, rotors are messed up, there’s a crack in the trunk floor, and the quarter panel is really screwed.
Got the new rims and tires installed, it drives quite a bit different than the 14 year old tires on 15x7 rims. I also learned how to change brake pads today.
May as well send the old tires out with some style.
I took these photos of our FSAE car in Ford’s wind tunnel instead.
Spurred on by the T-top post below, I never really thought about this till now but as far as I can find from my research nobody makes reproduction GM Fisher T-tops. I really want new glass since mine has some crazy deep gouging and scratches from 35 years of use. If anyone knows of a company or a process to fix deep…
