Honestly, I feel like we can let him have tomorrow and when he loses California, then he can concede. It would be a little more ceremonious that way and I’ll give him that.
Far more common than who thought? Because I’m pretty sure most women are not surprised by the news that when rapists get away with one rape, they go commit more. That’s what happens when a society doesn’t take rape as seriously as it should.
Wife Swap:White House Edition.
Keep seeing this “The gorilla was being kind!” reaction.. Are people just not seeing the part where he grabbed the child by the foot and dragged him through the water repeatedly?
I understand that there are privileges that come with passing as white, but it seems like we could be devaluing or belittling someone who is “halfsies” if we discount their experiences and identity like this.
I guess for me, the issue is that it should not be up to me (or anyone else) to determine how someone identifies their ethnicity and/or racial identity. I am not talking about Rachel Dozeal, but someone like Hadid who does have that background should be allowed to choose their racial/ethnic identity.
Well, historically people did consider Italians PoC or not wholly white. My waspy great grandma was opposed to my grandpa marrying my Italian grandma because all their children would be `black-eyed Susans.’ Yup. People had racist terms for brown-eyed people. :/ However, if we’re going to go with this olden days…
Yeah, I raised an eyebrow at that too. Of the six covers this year, 3 feature black women. So, 50% representation for black women, who do not make up 50% of the female population. So that is in fact trailblazing, since it’s the opposite of what usually occurs. It’s actually an OVER-representation of black women. And a…
I literally hate this. There’s definitely privilege to passing as white (and being rich and pretty af) but being half totally should count. I mean, I agree with you. My best friend is half Cuban but looks totally Irish and has an Irish last name but my other friend is half Puerto Rican and looks it and she doesn’t get…
Does that not count?
Also, Clinton won the NV primary election. Nothing was being stolen from these people. Blame the Sanders ground game for not having its delegates be prepared and follow the rules.
The parties aren’t actually required to nominate based on any democratic process. They could literally use a dart board or lottery if they wanted to.
Hearing about how NY should have gone to him because he won more counties was so infuriating. Sure, but in a lot of those counties cows outnumber people (I grew up in one, I should know). Sorry, people count, not landmass.
Clinton leads by 3 million popular votes and 280 delegates (the mortal, non-super kind). According to 538 there are indeed 10 more contests that Sanders supporters can, and should, vote their hearts out in. I’m sure winning California did wonders for Hillary’s self esteem in 2008, but it in fact did not prevent Obama…
Not to mention how immensely hypocritical it is to bitch endlessly about how “undemocratic” the process is, and then try to override the voters.
He doesn’t need to drop out, and he shouldn’t, but it’s time to fucking change the rhetoric of his campaign and begin reconciliation. His refusal to acknowledge his dying chances is leading to this insane bullshit. Fix it, Bernie. This is on you.
She was a CHILD at the time she was deemed too fragile, in what was arguably the most public rape and child custody case in the world at the time. Coming to terms with it enough to write about 20 years later doesn’t change the fact that back then, she couldn’t face it. Jesus. What doesn’t make sense is that you’re…
Shoot. Now I won’t get my chance to continue to not watch it.
