I agree. I’m only about 1/4 into the book and am annoyed by all of the references. There was a four or five page span that I just flat-out skipped after skimming it and seeing it was nothing but lists.

Under “Patience”, it’s mentioned that it takes 17 years to become a master chef. Second sentence.
