The Mercedes will also automatically put the transmission in park if the drivers door is opened when the tranny is in any position other than park. Trust me it works, I’ve had my head slammed into the steering wheel once when I opened the door while crawling forward.
Range Rover Sports have a similar setup with a trigger instead of a button, but the car automatically shifts to park if you open the door after shifting to neutral. Mercedes that have a separate “P” button from the shifter also do this. Seems like a common sense solution.

Montreal last year was a great experience for my first live F1 race. I could not make it again this year, so instead I took the plunge and got a ticket for the race at Spa-Francorchamps. I still need to figure out my transport and accommodations, but highly looking forward to my second live F1 experience.
what really gets you about montreal is the way you approach the track, taking the subway from the city itself, getting out and walking over the st lawrence, and then wandering through the park along with all the other fans on your way to your section.
