I thought it was crash test requirements? Easy to drop a new engine in to a defender, and it’s not like JLR don’t have any other engines they can put in.
That’s not how diesels work. Adding extra fuel is fine for gasolines as they are air limited, however diesels are un-throttled so more fuel means more combustion which means more heat.
