Yeah, it is. I think the thing that is responsible is the Hatch act, which makes federal employees unable to engage in “political activity” while on their job. What that political activity includes is kinda vague and Googling it didn’t give me anything really conclusive, but yeah, basically the FAA can do that.

Yeah if you fly domestic then you probably won’t die, you’ll just wish you had. Thanks a lot, Delta.
